Round 4 of the Marblehead Summer Series and typical summer conditions for the 6 boat fleet. Winds were very tricky with the sea breeze fluctuating around both sides of the hill and very up and down, with gusts to 10 knots or so and patches of 1-2 knots. Stu Harris acted as PRO for the first six races and set us on a pretty challenging course. It wasn't till the 4th race that all skippers completed the circuit. In all, 11 races were completed with the F3 comfortably winning the day on 12 points from John Hall on 23 points and Wayne Behrens third on 24 points. Next Sunday is the IOM Summer Series Round 5 with handicap racing from 11:00 AM and scratch from 1:30 PM. Till then, wet sails. Stuart Dawes.

The early morning conditions looked foreboding with grey skies and rain, however by the time the 13 skippers fronted for todays handicap racing, the rain had stopped and it looked like the day would turn out fine, except for the breeze. Everywhere else in Hobart experienced moderate to fresh nor-westerlies, but at the Brook things were the usual up and down shifty, to quote Stu Harris, "shite". Stu was PRO for the day and administered the "revised" handicaps. Off scratch were Alan McKenzie and John Smith, off 30 seconds were Dave Murfet, Don McLeod, Denis Lees, Peter Germein, Rex Calvert and John Deegan, off 50 seconds was Rob Cooney, off 1:10 was Chris Wood and Andrew Wardrop, and off 1:30 Rod Jackman and myself.
