DF95 Summer Scratch Round 2

Sailing Report – March 9, 2025
Today's Race Summary:

• 11 sailors on the water today.
• Winds were very light and variable in direction, making for tricky sailing conditions.
• A rotating PRO system was used, with the two Peters getting a break from PRO duties today.
• Welcome to Peter Ross, who joined us on the water today.
• Nine races were completed by 4 PM, with most sailors securing a spot on the podium.

Top Results:

• Stuart had an outstanding day, winning 5 of the 9 races, and despite missing one race (as he was PRO), he ended up as the winner with 8.5 points.
• Lisa came in second with three wins, finishing with 17.1 points.
• Ray secured third place with 18.5 points.

Silver Division Results:

• John Short won the division with 14.6 points.
• Peter Sylvester placed second on 18 points, winning 3 division races.
• Peter Ross rounded out the top 3, also on 18 points, but with 2 division wins.
• Rod Marshall was just 0.1 point behind the two Peters, narrowly missing the podium.

Coming Up:

• Wednesday, March 12: IOM Mid-Week Handicap, button press at 11:00 AM.
• Saturday, March 15: Peter Smith DF65 Memorial Regatta at Puddleduck, registration starts at 9:00 AM. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and lunch (soup and a salad roll – chicken or ham) will be provided. The cost is $25 per person, and participants must be financial members of RC Toys Tasmania. This event emphasizes fun and adherence to sailing rules.
• Sunday, March 16: RM Scratch at MBYC, button press at 1:00 PM. We've had one volunteer for one of the club's RM boats, but there’s room for two others. Please contact me if you'd like to join in for the race!
