Round 1 of the IOM Summer Scratch series was run on Sunday morning at the new Southern course area at Montrose Bay. It is a magnificent venue. A steady breeze of 6 - 10 Knots with great vision of the course from the headland for the skippers. Some excellent photography by Robert Gavin of the day's activity seen here on the club website will reinforce these sentiments. John Gard again did the PRO honours and he is now getting very good at it. Thanks John for your commitment. Some competitors had new sets of sails they were using in preparation for the nationals. Lisa Blackwood had a great day with her new Sedici design which she now has fine tuned and easily won the event. John Cole-Cook had a fine second overall with his sails which are 12 years old!! He has new sails which are yet to be measured, so he will be a bigger force when he gets them on his boat. Chris Wood snuck in for 3rd place overall. The racing concluded as the Northerly died out and the temperature started to rise to 36 degrees by the time packing up was completed. https://mysailingresults.com/results_embed.asp?eventid=283 Thank you Chris Wood.
