The weather & sailing conditions were so good today I have put it in a bottle to be bought out when needed in the future. Started out with a soft & patchy breeze fluctuating between south & north but about 11 am the sea breeze arrived giving the 14 skippers some excellent sailing. The handicap series started with a long distance race with the back marker part of the fleet on a 2 minute penalty - the race was won by Kim Potter in fine style who of course suffered a time penalty for the next series of short races held after lunch. The fleet was again divided into 2 with the back markers carrying a 1 minute penalty. After 5 races Rob Cooney was declared a worthy winner with Tony edging out the Commodore for second. Next Tuesday a few of us are by general invitation venturing down to Franklin (10 am ) to sail with the three I0M's in the Franklin fleet . Last Tuesday of every month the Franklin members have an open day for all classes so I thought it would be a good idea for us to support & promote I0M sailing at another club so if you would like to join us please come down & show your support & enjoy some Franklin hospitality.
