A very good day at the dam today.
Starting with a steady mid A rig northerly breeze for some close racing before the handicap series started prior to the handicap series the fleet had grown to 16 boats, a high for this summer. We started with a long distance race in the main series with the back markers off one minute thirty penalty but they were soon amongst the front runners. For the balance of the series the breeze did fluctuate a bit but the racing was hard fought & very enjoyable. Thanks to the commodore for running the series which was won the white boat Stu Harris from a red boat Rob Cooney & a funny sort of green boat sailed by Rod Jackman. Weed was a problem again today so we need a good blow to clean it out. Thanks to those four skippers who made the journey to Franklin yesterday. Conditions were not ideal but I know our presence was appreciated by the locals
