A modest fleet of 9 boats fronting for IOM/DF95 combined handicap racing, 5 IOM's and eventually 4 DF95's. Conditions were bright and sunny with a variable and shifty sea breeze to around 8-10 knots in the puffs. DF's started first with a 30 second start on the front marking IOM's and 1:30 start on the back marking IOM's, which worked well for the 1 lap around the bouys course. Race 8 was a long distance race and despite being advised before the start of the weed bank near the point, some skippers managed to end their race early in it. A pleasant afternoon's sailing enjoyed by all skippers in attendance.
A solid fleet of 12 DF95's raced in a moderate south east to southerly sea breeze of around 8 to 10 knots with some skippers opting for their B Rigs. An enjoyable afternoon's racing. Well done Wayne Behrens!
Results of Marblehead Summer Round 3. C Rig conditions with shifty and patchy NNW'er to westerlies averaging around 12 knots but with plenty of 15 knot plus bands of breeze coming down the dam or over the dam wall.
Results of the DF95 Twilight series sailed at Montrose Bay in a good sea breeze, although very shifty in the lee of the point. Most skippers went with B Rig, others with what they had. Plenty of waves and plenty of fun. Check out Kyles videos on YouTube. There is also video of the previous afternoon in a solid B, really C Rig northerly sailed on the south side of the seawall. No 32, Peter Darcey's full speed pitch pole is an absolute classic!
