Well, a good day at Montose with 12 DF95's fronting the starter in a soft NW breeze & a difficult lazy slop.
Good boat handling was the order of the day with Tony Brewer going very well in the first half of the morning. The breeze began to soften & then shift more to the west but at least the waves died down making for much easier conditions. David Jones & the Silver Fox (36) began to sneak up the reults in the latter half of the morning but at the end of racing David just managed to squeak in on 39 points from Richard Barwick 1 point behind, then Colin Johnson 46 points, Tony Brewer 47 points, Phil Turnbull 49 points, Cliff 50 points. As the RO I must appologise for rather eratic race management today, with Wayne B busy placing marks for the A class regatta this weekend plus a few visitors who needed attention things did not go very smoothly however from todays visitors from the RYCT we now have an invitation to do some demonstration sailing of the DF95's at the RYCT before Christmas. I must thank John Gard ( our newest member )who I roped in to help with RO duties. With the summer series approaching & our fleet expending we will impliment a better handicap system which should make the racing fairer. Andrew
