It was a beautiful sunny day today and a 5 - 12 knot North Westerly breeze found its way to the dam. During the morning the breeze was a little more to the west and there were some significant calm patches and direction shifts. After lunch it had settled in a knot or two stronger, and more from the North. There has been a bit of weed at the dam over the past few weeks and again today a few of the skippers has the misfortune to find some.
Kim Potter has his boat locked away in a storage container while he moves house but that has meant that he is available for PRO duties which he ably took on today. Kim was assisted by Mat Gray. Huge thanks to you both. Race Honours were well shared around with 7 different race winners and all skippers making the podium at some stage today. Third place overall today was a tie between Rod Marshall and Andrew Wardrop with Rod taking the honours on count back by virtue of two race wins. Second place went to Stuart Dawes who features regularly on the Wednesday podium. Stuart paid the price today though by getting too many podium spots and handicap penalties early in the day. Today’s winner was Jammy Jones fresh back from three months in Queensland. The holiday has not hurt you at all Jammy! Sunday’s sailing will be for IOM’s at the dam, button press at 10:00. Next Wednesday’s handicap we will also be for IOM’s button press at 11:00 John S
