There was rain, sun and light wind from around the compass at Risdon Brook Dam today. The first two races were held in a very light South Easter then after early lunch the wind was marginally fresher and from the North East.
Thanks to today’s PRO Ian Hey who did well with courses and race management under the tricky conditions. Congratulations to our winner today John Murrell who not only won two races but was very consistent throughout the day. I am not 100% sure of this but I think that this is John’s first race series win - so very well done, and well deserved too John. Second and just one point behind was the hard-to-stop Rod Jackman and third was Peter Germain who also claimed two race wins today. Congratulations to all. Next Wednesdays sailing will be at Montrose and will be for both DF65’s and DF95’s. Although it will be casual warm-up invitation races for the championships, Wednesday’s racing is open to all, even if you are not participating in the champs. Racing will start about 1:00 but come earlier to assist with setting up. Next Sunday’s sailing will be IOM scratch racing 1:00 at Montrose. John S
