An IOM scratch series of 10 races was held at Risdon Brook Dam today. The wind was a very gusty and ‘B Rig’ was the choice of the day. The wind direction was WNW, NW, NNW which made the racing a challenge for most skippers excepting Michael Hickman who sailed beautifully in the trying conditions. With the shifty and gusty conditions, there were some spills and thrills at some of the turning marks which made for an exciting day of racing. John Gard and David Murfet shared the PRO duties today, many a thank you to both gentlemen. John Cole-Cook arrived with Ray Joyce’s older Britpop which is now painted black. Unfortunately John had some winch issues which counted him out for the day. Rod Marshall competed in his first scratch series with his new boat and managed a few mid fleet positions which will give him confidence. Regards Chris
