Our first sail away from the dam due to no water and weed. Our move to Montrose was somewhat the same with the tide out and plenty of weed.
Before sailing commenced it was decided that all boats sailing on port tack and caused an infringement at the top mark would be penalised with a 720 turn. Most skippers that caused an incident at this mark did their penalty. The course set was inside the small bay which is suitable for small craft but a little on the tight side for IOMs. A small windward course was set, with a short reach then a run to the bottom mark, 3 times around. Due to lack of wind only 5 races was managed for the day. All skippers annoyed with weed problems. Don Mcloud sailed his DF95 and in the light wind was no match for the IOMs although he seemed to have had more weed than anyone. Stewart Harris sailed consistently to win the day on 26 points. John Hall was next with 19 points followed by Peter Germein with 14 points. David Jones 12 pionts, Rod Jackman 10 points, Dave Murfet 6 points, Andrew Wardrop and Dennis Lees 4 points and Ted Laing 3 points. Don Macleod 0 points along with Dennis Perry also with 0 points. We can only hope for better conditions next week at Montrose Wednesday Coordinator John Banks
