A difficult day today. All skippers opted for their C2 rigs from the outset, and before long, those with C3's suited up, with the wind increasing in strength - up to 30 knots today.
With this wind, the attrition got to the point where we abandoned the racing with just one yacht in racing condition. The last two races with just two yachts. Very close at the end of the day for the top three places. Lisa Blackwood won the day, on countback to Rod Marshall - sailing very well in his Skalpel, with Ray Joyce just 0.7 of a point behind, in third. This coming Wednesday is IOM Handicap, from 11am at MBYC, and next weekends sailing will be an extended opportunity for sailing. Sunday will be the normal Long Distance Handicap, starting at 11. Monday 25th will have a DF sail day from 1pm till 4 (standard sumer times), with a conclusion on Tuesday 26th with the first Australia Day Regatta - a fun day to sail whatever yacht you wish in a handicap format. Lunch time on the Regatta will also involve the presentations of the 2020 sailing Series. Further details for the weekend will be sent out very shortly.
