Eleven boats turned up tonight to sail in the DF95 twilight series. A beautiful evening with 27 deg & a consistant A rig south easterly breeze. The course was in the bay so the fleet had to contend with fluctuating breezes at the windward mark that saw a lot of position changes. David Jones sailed very well to take out the day on 19 points from Lisa B on 26 points & Geoff Mathews 32 points. Geoff sailed particularly well. Next were Richard Barwick & then Kyle Stewart. All racing was scratch tonight. Wayne Behrens boat tried to sink after suffering sevre cracking around the keel area. This is about the 6th or 7th hull that I know of that has suffered from this problem & combined with the on going winch & servo problems I think there are some real concerns about the the long term prospects for this class. Thats a real shame because otherwise they are a great one design boat. Thanks to Rod Marshall & Kyle for their RO duties.
