Another fine summer's day at the Brook with a steady 10 knot average north westerly wind on the river, funked up by the Brook's surrounding topography, resulting in the usual pick the 90 degree shift and avoid the holes racing. Pro for the day was Stuart Harris who administered the handicaps: off scratch was Mark (?) Holbrook with his IOM conformed ProBoat and Wayne Turner, off 30 seconds was Kim Potter, Don McLeod and Denis Lees, off 50 seconds was Peter Sylvester, Chris wood off 70 seconds and the rest off a capped 90 seconds. Race 1 line honours went to Chris Wood with Peter Sylvester finishing second and Kim Potter third. Race 2 saw the ProBoat take the gun followed by Don McLeod and Wayne Turner third. Race 3 saw Denis Lees take the win from Don McLeod again in second and Kim Potter on the podium again, this time in third spot. Race 4 was a race for the backmarkers with very light winds at the start. Andrew Wardrop took the gun from David Jones and Kim Potter with his third 3rd place. Race 5 saw Peter Sylvester get the judges nod from Kim Potter on the podium again and the Silver Fox, Peter Darcy coming in third place. The final race, Race 6 went to backmarker Ray Joyce followed by Peter Sylvester and the Silver Fox. Final results saw Peter Sylvester take the win with 15 points, on countback from Kim Potter and Wayne Turner in third place with 21 points. Sunday is Round 5 of the IOM Summer Series with Peter Sylvester on the schedule as PRO for the day. Handicap racing from 11:00 AM and scratch from 1:30 PM. Till then, wet sails. Stuart Dawes.
